On the first Wednesday in December, CIBC World Markets employees and clients engage in a major fund raising effort, CIBC World Markets Miracle Day. On Miracle Day, CIBC World Markets donates an amount equal to 100% of net trade-generated fees and commissions (less expenses) to support children with special needs. The Merrill Lynch Atlantic Fellowship is an exchange program managed by Merrill Lynch and endorsed by the U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The Fellowship provides talented young people from diverse backgrounds an opportunity to learn about the world of investment banking first-hand at Merrill Lynch’s offices in New York and London. Fellows are introduced to the financial services industry in the students’ home country followed by a trip across the Atlantic to experience investment banking and examine the cultural and political differences of the U.S. and the U.K. Julie Marks served as program coordinator for the 2005 Summer Fellowship. New York City's first-ever New York City Volunteer Expo was held on February 10-12, 2005, at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal. The event was hosted by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce. Julie Marks served as event coordinator working to bring together sixty small to medium-sized, Manhattan-based non-profit organizations and provide them an opportunity to recruit volunteers.
