Internship: Social Networking

Overall Duties:

  • Maintain VMG social networking pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In
  • Create content and update pages regularly
  • Track and establish reporting metrics

Requirements:

  • Currently an undergraduate student in a U.S. educational institution
  • Majoring in communications, marketing, event management, public relations or related major
  • Experience in social networking and viral marketing programs
  • Ability to be displined with posting of social messaging updates in a timely fashion and on a regular basis

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate college student with a major in Communications/Media Study/Public Affairs or related field. Must be proficient with Facebook, Linked In, Twitter. Experience with Flickr and other social media platforms a plus.  An interest in topics of nonprofit management, volunteer management, grant writing and corporate philanthropy a plus.

Compensation:
$550 per semester. The intern is expected to commit to 5 hours per week for a duration of 10 weeks during the semester.

Internship: Communications & Marketing

Overall Duties:

  • Draft email communications and coordinate releases
  • Assist in prep of content for VMG newsletter
  • Prepare content of messages with information regarding VMG training programs
  • Manage and update database contacts
  • Handle follow-ups to inquiries via email 

Requirements:

  • Currently an undergraduate student in a U.S. educational institution
  • Majoring in communications, marketing, event management, public relations or related major
  • Familiarity with databases and keeping data organized and up-to-date
  • PowerPoint, Excel and MS Publisher a plus

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate college student with a major in Communications, Marketing or related field.  An interest in topics of nonprofit management, volunteer management, grant writing and corporate philanthropy a plus.

Internship: Public Relations

Overall Duties

  • Assist with compiling content for and writing of VMG press releases
  • Coordinate dissemination of releases through PR Web
  • Help with editing and proof reading of written materials and communications
  • Develop and update content for VMG Press Kit

Requirements

  • Currently an undergraduate student in a U.S. educational institution
  • Majoring in English, journalism, communications, media, public relations or related major
  • Ability to gather information and create content on various topics for press releases
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate college student with a major in English, journalism, communications, media, public relations or related major.  An interest in topics of nonprofit management, volunteer management, grant writing and corporate philanthropy a plus. Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be productive, detail oriented and resourceful.
