Utilizing Pro Bono Professionals (Skills-based Volunteers) to Build Capacity
Speaker: Rachael Chong
Time: 3:15 pm - 4:00 pm
Skilled professionals offering pro bono service can be invaluable to resource-strapped organizations looking to expand their scope, launch new initiatives, and professionalize their operations. As a growing alternative to traditional volunteer models, pro bono service and skilled volunteering offer high-level professional service across a spectrum of fields. More and more organizations are turning to the pro bono model, and to services which match professionals with organizations, to complete capacity-building projects and free up staff time to focus on other organizational priorities.
- This presentation will introduce anecdotal and statistical evidence that pro bono service is a largely-untapped resource
- Participants will learn how best to utilize skilled professionals for projects that are discrete, measurable and contained
