During this session, Jean will walk you through some of the questions to ask before starting a nonprofit, give a brief overview of the filings you should expect to complete at the federal and state level, and share some of the standard policies and procedures that your new nonprofit will want to have in place.  Refreshments & Networking 6:30 p.m. Presentation and Q & A 7:15 p.m. 7:45 PM - Careers in Grant Writing & Fundraising with Maurice Lauriano Hear fundraising and grant writing expert Maurice Lauriano share stories and experiences he has had on his career path. Mr. Maurice Lauriano is a nonprofit management consultant with almost two decades of community development experience and youth development program design experience using culturally relevant performance-based measurements and outcomes.  The bulk of this skill set was acquired evaluating program proposals, performing agency site visits and monitoring contract compliance. This is followed by Q & A and an overview of VMG trainings related to a career in the grant writing and fundraising field.  Refreshments & Networking 6:30 p.m. Presentation and Q & A 7:45 p.m. 8:15 PM - Careers in PR, Marketing & Social Media with Marianna Moneymaker Hear PR, Marketing and Social Media expert, Marianna Moneymaker, share stories and experiences she has had on her career path.  The event starts with Marianna’s introduction, her chosen career, and a brief summary of the path traveled to get there. This is followed by Q & A and a presentation of VMG trainings related to a career in the PR, Marketing & Social Media field.
