COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Effective Communications Learn effective ways of introduction and follow-up communications with your propects. Email, phone, in-person meetings and written correspondence are covered. Role play is used to facilitate learning.
Prospect Research Course covers identifying, prioritizing and creating a pipeline for diverse funding sources, including individuals, corporations, government, and foundations. This class provides the knowledge, strategies and resources necessary to find funding for various types of grants.
Successful Grant Writing Get an A-Z overview of the grantwriting process and learn the core components of every grant proposal:cover letter, needs assessment, budget, methodology, and program evaluation. Develop a strategic approach to write a successful grant proposal.
Proposal Writing: Constructing a Compelling Narrative Students get started writing step-by-step. This hands-on class teaches how to write succinctly and persuasively. Students are encouraged to bring a project idea to begin formulating an outline for writing an actual rough draft proposal.
Development Planning & Fundraising Discuss how development applies to organizations large and small. Learn steps to create a development plan, utilize online giving, explore creative fundraising, discuss the importance of research, ethics and best practices.
Public Relations, Marketing & Social Media Explore tools and techniques to get the word out about your nonprofit mission and its impact. Develop a strategy to raise awareness, recruit volunteers, market special events, raise funds and more.
Special Event Fundraising Learn how to plan, organize and host fundraising events while staying on budget with as little stress as possible so you can enjoy the event planning process and the event itself. Through the many years of having planned, organized and hosted events, we'll impart knowledge from experience, giving you the opportunity to learn full-service planning and event day coordination. This lecture will discuss how to work with committees and honorees, and ways to deliver results for major donors and sponsors.
Developing Corporate Partners Identify and comprehend the unique characteristics of corporate funders, the do's and don'ts in building corporate partnerships and what it takes to ultimately gaining their long-term support.
Introduction to Corporate Philanthropy - Bonus Video Gain an understanding of the corporate philanthropy landscape. Learn how corporations develop strategies for aligning program goals with company principles and mission. Discuss various components of a corporate philanthropy program, industry trends, and best practices.

Schedules, Fees & Registration Online Training Classroom Training
Registration To register, complete and submit the VMG Fundraising Training Program Registration Form and make payment. It's that easy! There is no application process required. Registration continues till classes are full or until four business days prior to the class date. Walk-in registration on the day of class is not permitted. You may mail the form with payment to Volunteer Management Group or fax the form for faster service. Volunteer Management Group's address and fax number are on the form. Please email training (at) volunteermanagementgroup.com with questions or to confirm that the form and payment have been received.
Registration for Individual Courses Individual course registration is not permitted, only the full 8-course online program. Cancellation Policy: No Refunds Registration is first come, first served. Space is limited. Due to space arrangements all payments are final. No refunds possible. Cancellations can receive access to a recording of the material, $10 admin fee applies. Cancellation policy applies to online and classroom programs.
Course Status Minimum enrollment must be met for a program or course to run. When maximum enrollment for the program is reached, the program will be closed and the names of interested registrants will be put on a wait list and notified on a first come basis if an opening occurs. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
Homework and Grades This is a non-credit training program. While grades will not be given, students are offered the option to meet "VMG Challenge Assignments" assigned for each course by completing the challenge and submitting work to the instructor for feedback and critique. Instructors will only review work on a timely basis at the time the course is taught (not after you finish the series).
Attendance Requirements Students are required to be professional and, for courtesy to the instructor and other students, be on time. If absence is to occur, the student is responsible for notifying VMG and requesting access to an online recording of the missed class. Each instructor maintains and submits attendance records for each class.
Completing Your Training The Fundraising Training consists of completing the 8 courses listed above. Upon completion you will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by VMG. Attendance at each class is required. Partial attendance in any class does not count toward completion. Upon completion a certificate will be mailed out from VMG within 4 weeks. Have more questions?
